With a MacBook's System Info utility, you can check how many cycled your battery has. Most MacBook batteries will last for over 1,000 cycles, but not all. We have seen batteries last over 1,600 cycles and still work properly, but in most cases they begin to fail at around 1,000 to 1,200 cycles we have noticed. Being able to see how many cycles your MacBook battery has is still good information.
